Nordic Food S.L. operates foodbroker.es under the brand Foodbroker (part of Nordic Food Brands) and is responsible for the processing of personal data described in this policy.

2. What personal data we process

  • Contact data you send us — e.g. name, company, job title, e-mail address, phone number and the content of your message, when you write to us by e-mail or through a contact form.
  • Business relationship data — contact details of people at producers, suppliers, wholesalers, distributors and buyers we work with or are in dialogue with, and information needed to prepare and carry out agreements.
  • Chat messages — if you use the chat on the website, we process your messages and any name or contact details you give us, in order to answer you. The chat runs on our own customer service system (Omniflow).
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device and pages visited, which our server and security systems register automatically when you visit the website.
  • Cookie and analytics data — only if you have given your consent in the cookie banner (see section 10).

We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data. Please do not send us such information.

3. Purposes and legal basis

  • Answering enquiries and taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement — GDPR art. 6(1)(b), and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries — art. 6(1)(f).
  • Managing commercial relationships with producers, suppliers and buyers, including brokerage, negotiation and coordination of trades — art. 6(1)(b) (contract) and art. 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest in B2B communication).
  • Accounting, tax and other legal obligations — art. 6(1)(c).
  • Security and operation of the website, including protection against misuse — art. 6(1)(f).
  • Statistics and marketing cookies — only with your consent, art. 6(1)(a). You can withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Commercial communications to business contacts about our services — based on our legitimate interest or your consent, in line with the Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI). You can opt out at any time by writing to info@foodbroker.es.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We only share data when necessary, with:

  • Service providers (data processors) acting on our instructions, e.g. website hosting, e-mail and IT services, and — with your consent — analytics and marketing tools such as Google and Meta.
  • Producers, suppliers or buyers in a potential trade, to the extent needed to establish contact and carry out the cooperation you have asked us to help with.
  • Advisers such as accountants and lawyers, under a duty of confidentiality.
  • Public authorities, when we are legally obliged to.

5. Transfers outside the EU/EEA

Some service providers (for example Google or Meta) may process data outside the EU/EEA, including in the United States. In such cases the transfer is based on an adequacy decision (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

6. How long we keep data

  • Enquiries: as long as needed to handle your enquiry, and then for up to 12 months unless a business relationship is established.
  • Business relationships and agreements: for the duration of the relationship and afterwards for the periods required by law, e.g. accounting and tax rules (in Spain generally up to 6 years).
  • Technical and security logs: for a limited period, normally no longer than necessary for security purposes.
  • Cookies: as stated in the cookie banner / cookie information.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw any consent you have given at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.

To exercise your rights, write to info@foodbroker.es. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will reply within one month.

If you believe that our processing of your data does not comply with the law, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, www.aepd.es).

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access control.

9. Children

foodbroker.es is aimed at businesses and professional buyers. The website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly process data about persons under 14.

10. Cookies

Necessary cookies are used to make the website work. Statistics and marketing cookies (for example Google Analytics and Meta Pixel) are only placed if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the cookie settings on the website.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy when our services or the law change. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the latest update.
